TLDR: The Great British Baking Show tart rings are De Buyer perforated tart rings (Amazon Link).

Very rarely, normally during a pie or patisserie week, the bakers on The Great British Baking Show will end up making tarts. In more recent seasons, when they do, they're provided with De Buyer perforated tart rings (Amazon Link).
I first noticed these tart rings because of their perforations. It left a cool pattern on the side of the tart and I thought that looked attractive. Little did I know, they're actually really useful. Being perforated allows for the ring to heat up quicker (along with it being very thin), which allows for better baking. This also allows steam to escape from the crust, which keeps your crust nice and crispy. If you're making tarts and have had any soggy problems, you need this!
Additionally the De Buyer perforated tart rings (Amazon Link) are made out of 18/10 stainless steel, so they're going to last a while (yay) and they're dishwasher safe (double yay).
When I first noticed these tart rings they were stamped with De Buyer. However, the ones now on the shop are stamped Valrhona. They partnered with “l’Ecole du Grand Chocolat Valrhona” in 2012 to bring these rings to fruition. So if like me you see Valrhona, and question the legitimacy, they're all good.
De Buyer was formed in 1830 in Val d’Ajol, France. There they made cutlery utilizing the local minerals and metals.
Since then they have aimed to maintain high quality while staying at the leading edge of technology. This can be seen in their continued creation of new tools, eg. the first high pressure cooker, the first carbon fiber handled chef's knives, copper pots and pans that work with induction ovens, and the list goes on.
They strive to maintain wonderful craftsmanship and make most everything from hand. This makes their products feature a bit of a premium price tag, but this is one of those instances where you get what you pay for. In the last decade they've started buying out other companies and brands which always makes me a bit wary of quality issues, but they seem to have kept theirs incredibly high.
The De Buyer warranties on their bakeware and non-stick cookware are a bit wanting - only 1 year. However, they have incredible warranties on their carbon steel and copper cookware. Which makes me feel like they are paranoid things will start to break down a bit after prolonged use. However, this does not seem to have phased The Great British Baking Show which uses their bakeware, so if it's good enough for them, it's probably good enough for us!
And last but not least they received their "Corporate Social Responsibility" label in 2018. This basically states that they're doing their best to protect the environment and people while manufacturing. They are the only French bakeware company to achieve this, which is pretty awesome! I wish more companies would follow their foot steps!

Because of the wonderful quality, the fact that De Buyer invented the perforated tart rings, and because they retail in the US, UK, and EU I'm not going to present other tart ring options. Which leads us to the question - where can you get them?
Well that's easy and fortunately De Buyer has made it very easy for us!
First you can pick up the De Buyer perforated tart rings on the De Buyer website. This is a pretty nice option as they offer free ground shipping on orders over $70, though they are pretty picky about where they will ship to (mainland USA only).
Secondly they have an Amazon store, which makes things ridiculously easy for us. On their store you can click into just the tart rings where you can find a whole collection of the tart rings from 2 to 9.75 inches in diameter. I think the tart rings on The Great British Baking Show are the 5 inch rings. Additionally they ship via Amazon prime, which means if you're an Amazon prime member they'll get to you in roughly 2 days with free shipping. (I'm a huge fan of Amazon Prime - if you're not a member you can try it out for 1 month for free.)
So if you're looking for the De Buyer perforated tart rings (Amazon Link) from The Great British Baking Show, you're in the right place and you're in luck. They're an incredible product, and its super easy to get your hands on some.
