TLDR: Season 12 ushered in a new utensil holder for The Great British Baking Show. It is the Kitchen Pantry Yellow Utensil Holder. For a few seasons, The Great British Baking Show utensil holder was the vintage model by Typhoon, it is no longer available. The updated, non-retro, version is Living Utensil Pot (Amazon Link - UK). It comes in a few pastel colors.
The utensil holders on The Great British Baking Show have changed roughly 4 times, the newest is the Kitchen Pantry Yellow Utensil Holder. This one is easily identifiable by the honeycomb pattern at the bottom of the utensil holder, with a fairly nice gradient from yellow to white that rises up the sides of the container.
This utensil holder fits in with the aesthetic of the tent quite well, giving it a nice pop of color where the season 11 container was just a white jug with handles on it. Prior to that The Great British Baking Show utensil holder was a ceramic container with a white body and an exposed clay lip. This particular container remained on the show for roughly 8 seasons.
However, it must have been discontinued. I looked at roughly 100 thousand utensil holders and other random storage jars and the closest thing those that I found was the Jamie Oliver medium storage container - (Amazon UK). This differs by having a dark gray top instead of the rust colored ceramic top. It is also embossed with "utensils" on the side.
Prior to this The Great British Baking Show utensil holders were made by typhoon and were known as their vintage or retro utensil holder. In the last 10 years they changed the pattern to the current model - the Living Cream Utensil Pot. (Amazon Link - UK). This comes in a few different pastel colors (Amazon Store only in the UK). The only difference is the vintage/retro version used to say "utensils" where the silver logo now sits. The rest of the body is the same with the four ridges around the bottom and the silver lip.
The current honey comb utensil holder is manufactured by Kitchen Pantry. It pops up at random online shops in the UK, which leads me to believe it is a local company or someone imported a small set from a foreign market. The long running rimmed ceramic utensil holder is long gone. But Typhoon remains. They may have changed the look of the utensil holder but the form and function remain the same.
Typhoon is a UK based company formed in 1991 and they specialized in Asian cookware. They were acquired in 2011 by The Rayware Group, which was formed in 1975. This group specializes in supplying housewares, and to that end they also acquired Mason Cash in 2003 and Kilner in 2001 which we've covered in this blog. They also own both Viners - a cutlery company, and Ravenhead - a glass production company. I assume this blog will eventually touch on them. (I hope the show sticks with Wusthof over Viners - as Viners looks very - ahem - plastic.)
Typhoon offers a few other products. But honestly none of them really tickle my fancy. Their storage containers, both the Otto series, and the Living Range - the line with the utensil holder in it - seem decent and have a good look to them.

There are 2 types of people in this world. People with a utensil holder, and people with 'that drawer.' You know 'that drawer.' It's filled with whisks, spatulas, and potato smashers. The measuring cups and tea spoons have managed to link themselves to the ladles and something has decided the drawer will not open.
The easiest way to fix 'that drawer,' is to sacrifice some counter space, roughly a circle's worth of real estate with a diameter of 5 inches. Worth it. You can take everything with a long handle, and put it in the utensil holder and voila! If you're here, you're either looking to upgrade your utensil holder or take the brave first step in ridding yourself of 'that drawer.'
If you're looking to get the OG utensil holder, Living Cream Utensil Pot. (Amazon Link - UK) is your way to go. If you're looking for the season 12 honey comb utensil holder, and you're in the UK you're in luck and should be able to get your hands on one.
However, depending on the look of your kitchen you have some fabulous options! I would know - I've looked at like 100 thousand of them trying to find the long running utensil holder to no avail. What I did find is quite pretty and quite useful.
Most of the utensil holders have a diameter between 5 and 6 inches (10 to lets say 14 cm) and stand roughly a couple inches taller. Which means if you don't need 'utensils' emblazoned on the side of the container (UK), really any food container will do!
To that end some of my favorite come from Le Creuset. They have both a utensil holder by name (Amazon Link - UK - different colors), as well as a sleek 'Large Storage Container' (Amazon Link - UK). The 2.5 quart 'large storage container' is a bit more expensive, does not come in as many color options, and for those of you on a quest for a clean aesthetic - omits the "Le Creuset" label. It looks great!
Regardless of your ultimate decision, cleaning up 'that drawer' is well worth it, and there are some beautiful options available!
